My Boyz Part Quad...

Next in my list of nine of my closest friends is one Jeremy Blain...

Jeremy and I go way back into the days of middle school. We battled things out on the volleyball court...Marine View vs. Vista View...I'm pretty sure I dominated the entire time. That's just how it goes...

We became big time bros in high school and wrecked some havoc. Of course...Also had several fun parties at his mom's place...Where's Bence with that saw???!!!!

Jeremy is by far one of the most ambitious dudes I know. Works retarded hard...

He also had lots of cool stuff and if I lived in California, I would help him use a lot of those cool things. Blainer also really manned up at the Bachelor party and smoked the Red fish...He was sweatin' catching anything and I think he caught more than anyone...

Great dude that I'm stoked is one of my groomsdudes...

See you next week holmes...

My Boyz Part Tres...

For my on going series of My Boys/Groomsman,,,I'm bringing it down with a west coaster...

I truthfully don't know how I met Jensen...aka The Bence, Benny, Benson...I think we was Blainer's friend but I really don't know.

Regardless, Bence has been a great friend since we've met...He's manned up a couple of times and cruised to Texas...He caught his legendary "lunks" on one trip. It's about the only fish he's caught in several years.

A few years back he also bro'd down and cruised to Atlanta where things got dirty...

Overall, great dude, good golfer, horrible fisherman...

Bence, You shred!

Jensen didn't actually catch this fish. Ben Jarrett caught this fish...Rumor has it, he didn't boat a fish an entire trip...We still like the guy though...

My Boyz Part Deuce...

Back in the days of Texas, I met Austin Brooks. Austin is a cool cat that I'm stoked to be friends with. Him and I worked at Skeeter together for a few years but have continued to stay bros after I moved. We had a brief stint of being roomies as well. I love giving the dude crap because of his metrosexuality and assortment of lotions...I will admit though, he is a handsome man...

Him and his wife (Tamara) are cruising from "Deep in the Heart of Texas" for the wedding...So Cal is going to wrap this dude up and most likely they won't be leaving...

Austin, you shred!!!

Help Please...

My buddy Paul hooked me up with a sick All Clad Fish Poacher...Here's the deal though...I've never poached a thing in my life. I emailed All Clad and asked if they had recipes to go with their product but they were pretty much useless.

So, how does one poach fish in this thing? It has a rack that I don't know if the fish is supposed to be fully submersed or if it is supposed to be above the water and steam? I don't know. Please help because once Amanda and I get married, I want to poach it up...

Back to a somewhat Normal life...

Finally got the couch and rest of the furniture moved into our new place today...It's starting to feel like a regular place now...Lovin' it...Hatin' that my Boo is in Vegas right now and I'm not...

Huge props to Brown-Man and Doche today for helping a brother out...

My Boyz...

Since we're nearing the big day, I wanted to do some special blog posts on my boyz...I have a bunch of great friends but I wanted to share about the dudes in my wedding...The Groomsmen, the 9 coolest guys in the world, the homies, etc. etc...

So to start things off, let me introduce you to my boy McPherson or Mac or Macadoche or The Doche...

Mac grew up in Atlanta, I grew up in So Cal. Through mutual friends, Mac and I came to know each other and become roommates at the Longleaf Palace...After a couple years, Mac and I took it up to Smer-Town to be roomies for another year...

Mac pretty much rocks... Ridiculously smart, super loyal, great friend to Amanda and he's got red hair...That's pretty much why we're bros...

Great guy, great friend...And a heck of a dancer...

Scotty in the House...

My future bro in law is on team blog...Check him out at www.scottsalazar.blogspot.com...He's a beast, he's a rock star and he likes the Lakers...Yeaaahhhh Brah!

Just one more reason...

My UpStreet Small Group and small group parents continue to amaze me...Last Sunday, after the service, they said they had a present for me. So they huddled around and gave me a couple of cards with some great notes in it and a small box. Naturally, I was thinking a gift card because of the density of the box...I opened it up and got this...

Nine sets of silverware...Actually, just the pics of 9 sets of silverware. They came in the mail a few days later...Freakin' amazing...What a great group of parents for making that happen...And just a phenomenal set of kids I am so lucky to hang out with on Sunday mornings. Wow...

An interesting way to solve a problem...

It's late...And I should be gazing at the back of my eyelids. But I'm not...

Just finished Boomsday by Christopher Buckley. Great read and quick. Read it in a flight to and from DC and a few hours after that.

Political satire at its finest. Basic premise of the book is the boomers retiring and the gen X/Yers are having to pay for social security. To solve the problem, main character proposes "Voluntary Transitioning" for those at age 70. If you get Jack Kevorkian, your kids and grandkids get tax breaks.

Author also wrote Thank You for Smoking.

Super stoked on two books I bought today...Two pastors that challenge me via podcasts every week. Really looking forward to getting into those through the next two weeks of traveling.

Good night...

You're Welcome...

I moved into our new place a couple of weeks ago and besides for a can of tuna fish and a sleeping back I pretty much have nothing here...Fortunately, "linksys" has been nice enough to share his internet. And with that I've stumbled upon hulu.com. Greatest thing ever when you don't have a TV and your eyes cannot take anymore reading...Anyways, free TV shows, movies and clips with limited interruptions...

My gift to you on this Sat. evening...If you don't think Norm MacDonald is funny, we seriously cannot be friends anymore...

2 to 1 Mentoring...

Probably the most important things that Amanda and I have done since our engagement has been taking the pre-marital mentoring class through Buckhead Church. We decided from the get go that we were going to do this and I must say it has been the greatest thing to strengthen our relationship today and into our marriage.

For eight weeks, we met with an awesome couple (Brian and Catherine) and jumped into the issues that married couples deal with. It was so refreshing to get things out on the table and to get tools to help resolve things within a marriage. The conversations that were spurred from the sessions have brought Amanda and I closer together. We had to make some tough decisions going through the class but they will be so worth it in the long run.

I can't thank Brian and Catherine enough for the time they spent with us.

I highly recommend to any engaged couples to go through something like this. Whether it's church affiliated or not, you should do it...Marriage is supposed to be a one time thing so why not invest in it on the front side...

I'm sorry

It seems like I've been apologizing a bunch lately because of my lack of blogging and I have to do it again as I've been off the program big time. I hope Google doesn't pull my blog card because of my lack of...

Nonetheless, life is going fast right now...Traveling a lot for work right now. Florida last week, DC the past couple of days and Indianapolis the next two weeks. And then the Big Day...Looking forward to this one most...

I will say I had a good time in DC. I really didn't get to see much as we were tied up in meetings all day. I did however take about a 3 hour walk around the city. So much history and cool stuff to look at. The District really has an energy about it like no other place I've been to.

Anyways, lots of stuff coming soon...

Love You Mom

I have no idea how Moms do it...They're incredible and they are the backbone of families...And my mom epitomizes this...

Mom, you are the glue that holds things together and makes things happen. Dad, Shannon and I are better because of you.

All my self-esteem and confidence is a direct reflection of you...

Whenever I was down, you picked me up...
Whenever I screwed up, you loved me...
Whenever someone gave me crap, you wanted to kick their tail...

You're awesome Mom and I love you...

Thank you Mom for everything that you've done for me and for our family.

Who's a Hawks Fan Now?

Up until about 3 days ago, there were 7 Hawks fans in the United States...Now after taking the Celtics to game 7, almost all of Atlanta has jumped on the bandwagon...Gotta love it...

I didn't even know they still had a team...
